The challenge
A client struggled to track the profitability of its diverse set of projects. Operating across multiple systems — sales, planning, logistics and invoicing — the company found it challenging to identify projects that were underperforming financially. The lack of accurate, actionable data made it difficult to take corrective actions before financial losses occurred, limiting their ability to optimise profitability.
The solution
We developed a custom Power BI dashboard that leveraged data from all operational systems out of a centralised data warehouse built on Azure Data Factory. The dashboard provided accurate insights into project profitability, allowing the company to monitor performance by customer, project type and project manager. This tool enabled the business to quickly identify projects falling below margin thresholds and take proactive steps to address underperforming areas. With this enhanced visibility, the company was able to optimise resources, improve project execution and boost profitability.
